We are not currently hiring staff readers. Staff reading position applications will be updated and will open at the beginning of the semester in Fall of 2022. Please see the EDITOR APPLICATIONS tab under "About" or click HERE to apply for an editor position by June 1, 2022.

Cellar Door, the oldest undergraduate literary magazine at UNC-Chapel Hill, will be holding an interest meeting in August or September. This page will be updated once a date is set.

Published twice annually, the magazine has continually published the best poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and art of the undergraduate student body since 1974. Over the years, their judges have included everyone from Mark Strand, Téa Obreht, Tony Hoagland, and others.

This meeting will cover how to apply to join the magazine’s fiction, poetry, and art staff; submit your work for consideration for the Fall issue; or simply get involved in the creative writing community here at Carolina.

More information about how to submit your work for consideration will be available at a later date.

To find out more information about submission requirements, read the last issue, or find out how to get involved, email the Editor-in-Chief at thecellardoor.unc@gmail.com

Applications to join our reading staff open at the beginning of each semester. Each group- our fiction staff, poetry staff, and art staff- individually meets once a semester to look over submissions and finalize selections.
